    How much does AI animation cost in 2026?

The generation itself - the images, video clips, and audio an AI pipeline produces - is remarkably cheap: a 5-minute short is typically a few hundred dollars of compute. The real budget is the small team that writes, directs, reviews, and assembles that work.     What actually drives AI animation cost

    • Iteration count, not length. Generating a shot costs roughly the same whether it's your first take or your tenth - so a director who knows what they want spends a fraction of what an exploratory workflow does. Good storyboarding is the biggest cost lever there is.
