Prompt engineering is the practice of crafting the inputs (prompts) you give an AI model to get the best possible output. For AI image and video, it means describing a shot precisely enough that the model renders what you actually want.
It's the skill of saying exactly what you mean. "An old man on a boat" and "medium close-up of an elderly fisherman at dawn, slow push-in, golden backlight, photorealistic" are the same idea - but only one is a prompt that produces a usable shot.
